The City of San Antonio will conduct a public hearing to name the New Medical Center Area Park on June 11, 2024, as required by Article XVI of Chapter 6 of the City Code. Comments, oral or written, concerning the naming of park from all interested citizens will be considered.

Written comments (up to 300 words maximum) may be submitted via email by Monday at 4:00 PM on June 10, 2024, to the Committee liaison: reena.gonzalez@sanantonio.gov. These comments will be given to the committee. Please include your full name and home or work address.

Councilman Manny Pelaez has submitted a recommendation that the New Medical Center Area Park located at Floyd Curl Drive be named the Lisa Starr Rosenstein.

The naming of the park is to honor Lisa Starr Rosenstein who was active in her children's schools, the community, the NY Roadrunners, and her synagogues; Congregation Rodfei Sholom and Congregation Beth El. She became a longdistance runner and took great pride in having completed 27 marathons in just a few short years. Lisa touched everyone she met with her largerthanlife personality and her massive heart. Lisa Starr Rosenstein passed away on May 2, 2021 in a tragic hit and run accident while out on her morning run. Naming the park will serve as a memory for all of Lisa's contributions to this city.
