START

Airport Shuttle Pilot Program: START is running a shuttle program from December 16, 2023 - April 14, 2024! Please utilize the shuttle for your trips to and from the Jackson Hole Airport. Both riders and non-riders are encouraged to participate in the online survey to help stakeholders gain important feedback- whether you use the shuttle or not, please take this survey for trips you make to and from the airport so we can understand the efficacy of the pilot and make recommendations for future potential service.

Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A)

Teton County and the Town of Jackson were awarded a US Department of Transportation grant through the Safe Streets and Roads for All program (SS4A) to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan that will prioritize projects and policies to improve safety and mobility for all users of the region’s transportation system. The SS4A project is a multi-year planning effort that will feature extensive public engagement with a focus on identifying improvements for active transportation networks. In addition to the Safety Action Plan, the project will update the Town of Jackson Community Streets Plan and create a new set of Transportation Engineering Design Standards. The Comprehensive Safety Action Plan will enable the Town and County to be eligible for future implementation funding through the SS4A program.  Sign up here for updates of the process.  

 

 

 

Wildlife Crossings

In 2022, Teton County allocated voter-approved SPET funds for wildlife crossings to a design project encompassing three priority areas as identified in the Wildlife Crossings Master Plan. Traditionally, wildlife crossing projects are prioritized in areas that overlap with and can be integrated into upcoming highway projects led by the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT).  These three priority segments were not included in either WYDOT’s short- or long-term transportation plans.   Therefore, Teton County decided to advance them as standalone plans which can then either be implemented independently or as part of future, WYDOT highway improvement projects.

Modernizing Mobility for West Jackson 

  

This study will evaluate alternatives for a transportation network that implements the transportation connectivity objectives of the Northern South Park Neighborhood Plan while rehabilitating and modernizing existing rights-of-way and fulfilling the policy directive to make walking, biking, transit, and carpooling more convenient than driving alone.

As a joint venture of Teton County and the Town of Jackson, Modernizing Mobility for West Jackson will create a plan for bicycle and pedestrian improvements; consider upgrades to our roads, sidewalks, and intersections; and determine the best layout for future connectivity.

Gregory Lane Corridor

The Gregory Lane Project will feature a complete overhaul of the corridor, including transportation, multi mobility, sewer/water infrastructure upgrades, and addition of a new storm water system.

Overall project goals will be met through:

  1. Development and implementation of a Community Engagement plan to gather input and perspective from stakeholders and community members.
  2. Provide a Complete Street Program including critical design elements, which may include: sidewalk(s), street lighting, parking, right-of-way constraints, safe pedestrian crossings, and landscape elements.
  3. Improve water and wastewater utility systems within the corridor.
  4. Install a storm water conveyance system with storm water treatment solutions.
  5. Improve Safe Routes to School for mobility within the corridor.
